Modern Icon 1″ Summit Collar

Modern Icon 1″ Summit Collar
Inspired by the heavy-duty tactical collars, the 1″ Summit Collar is a lightweight collar designed for dogs of all sizes with active lifestyles.
Modern Icon use lightweight but durable webbing, which is both quick drying and long lasting. A triple pass adjustment system allows for maximum adjustability while conserving space—providing more room for add-on customisation. They utilise a magnetic Fidlock® buckle and a heavy gauge welded D ring as a secure point to clip your lead. Sizes small though large also have integrated attachment points, compatible with most collar-mounted GPS tracking modules, allowing you to attach devices directly to the collar.
By default the Summit Collars do not have velcro on the exterior of the collar.
Please note that dogs performing apprehension, bite work, or dogs that need heavy-duty materials and metal buckles should utilise the Defender Series collars.
** There is an extra charge for the Multicam Classic and Multicam Dark webbing **

Good Whisky and Spicy dogs... both essential elements of a great life! I`m off Snakeshead K9 work and into London for the day job today. Back to a couple of packed days on Thursday and Friday, getting an operation on Sigrid (long story for tomorrow!), working on the website, sorting finance and meeting suppliers.
Hard work pays off, and every day grinding is another step towards the dream!

Last bit of product testing out in the Brecons with Sigrid. Given all the collar lights a real battering this weekend and looking forward to sharing the results!
Also been a great opportunity to put her new 1.5" Rigid collar from @moderniconk9 through a tougher weekend and I`ve loved the security if gives on some of the slightly more exposed ground!

Beacon lights are an essential kit item for first responders with K9 companions. For years, I`ve used the Orbiloc lights as my go-to option, but this weekend I`ll be spending some time in the hills with my dog and my tent, to properly test out the best options currently on the UK market.
Whichever one wins will be stocked on Snakeshead K9 to ensure that handlers have the confidence to choose the very best product for their work, first time!
In the test we have;
Generic cheap ebay light £4
Decathlon Kiplight £4
Orbiloc £19
Nitecore NU06 LE £31
Report back Monday with the results!

Sigrid, my personal dog and adventure buddy! Happy as always in the flower meadows... it`s been a struggle the last few weeks with her. An unfortunate accident with a doberman meant she`s had to have a pretty big operation to remove 5 teeth and prepare her for a second operation next week to have one of her rear molars replaced with Titanium!
She`s not a dog that does well with just treat rewards, and I can feel her getting more and more pent-up recently! The vet has advised that as soon as the titanium is fitted, she can get straight back to tug games and bite work... next Friday... we can`t wait!

Quick Product Review;
Although I use a training vest for the majority of my training sessions, an excellent treat pouch is a must have for less formal walks, especially when my wife doesn`t want to look like she`s taking a dog trainer out for a Sunday walk!
I`ve been through tonnes of different treat pouches, and having a good one makes a big impact on your ability to train effectively. Even with a bridging marker, quick access to the treats speeds up reward delivery and makes every training session run more smoothly.
I`ve tried cheap pouches, the chalk bag style ones, bum bags, and those silicone ones. In the end, the Ruffwear one was an easy winner. Head and shoulders above the rest!
I`ve recommended this one to clients regularly over the years as a must-have piece of dog training kit.
The magnetic opening, washable liner, poo bag pouch, good belt attachment options, and fast easy access have made it one of my most used pieces of kit. After daily uses for just over 5 years, the stitching finally gave out, and I needed to replace it! (Image on the left).
At £44 I was really struggling to justify the cost. I tried repairing it a few times but the reality was that it was just worn out. I assumed eventually I`d have to give in and take the sting.
I did a little research and eventually came across the one on the right from @dogcopenhagen . At £31 it felt a little less painful, so I decided to take the punt. In the end, I`ve been really impressed. The opening rigidity isn`t quite as good, but on every other metric, I think it`s actually a superior product. Almost identical on all the usability metrics that matter and incredibly similar in design but with a wide range of colours. The poo bag integration is much better, placed at the bottom so the roll doesn`t block access to the treats, there`s an additional zip pocket for keys and a clicker and there`s 3m reflective details which make it more visible in the dark.
In the future, I`ll be recommending this one rather than the Ruffwear one to clients as I really think it`s an upgrade, which is great combined with the lower price!
